Back in the 1970's the term homeless wasnt used like it is today, mostly they were called alkies, deros or winos and they were mainly males who had fallen out of society for one reason or another or who chose to. A number were ex servicemen...being someone who was on the streets a lot then we got to know a number of them around Bondi Junction, the Sydney town hall, around George street Sydney and around a number of other places in the CBD.. some were kinda scary but a lot were interesting and had cool stories to tell and we used to catch up with some of them on a regular basis..so this is my tribute to them back then....cheers
